Drake Wayland
COLLEGE PASTOR
Drake Wayland is the University Minister at First Baptist Church Stephenville. He and his wife, Robyn Wayland, are both Tarleton State University graduates and were actively involved during their time at Tarleton. Drake and Robyn welcomed their first son, Luka, in February 2024. Drake is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. God used Paradigm to transform both of their lives, and they were thrilled when He called them back to Stephenville in December 2023. Drake is passionate about seeing the gospel transform his own life and the lives of students at Tarleton and Ranger. Outside of ministry Drake enjoys fishing, woodworking, and spending time with Robyn and their son, Luka.
Chris hurt
GUEST SPEAKER
Chris Hurt is has been a full-time youth minister for over 25 years. He currently serves at Frisco First Baptist Church, but occasionally speaks to college students at Paradigm. He loves to bring the Bible to life by energetically speaking God's word, often making the entire room laugh. Chris is married to his wife Shanda and has two kids Chandler and Brooklyn.
kathryn boren
COLLEGE MINISTRY ASSISTANT
Kathryn graduated from Tarleton with a degree in Special Education but quickly realized her heart was set on ministry. After interning as a student, she joined the Paradigm team full-time in 2019 as the College Ministry Assistant. Beyond ministry, she loves spending time with her husband, Charlie, traveling, hanging out with friends & family, and finding any and every excuse to go to the mountains.
LILY SMALL
COLLEGE MINISTRY INTERN
Lily serves as one of the college ministry interns for FBC Stephenville. She is studying Agricultural Communications at Tarleton State University and plans to graduate in 2025. She loves being part of what God is doing through Paradigm and enjoys investing in the lives of college students. In her free time, she loves riding horses, playing basketball, and spending time with her friends and family.
ETHAN BRATTON
COLLEGE MINISTRY INTERN
Ethan is one of the college ministry interns for FBC Stephenville. He graduated from Tarleton in 2023 with a bachelors degree in business administration. Later, in 2024, he graduated with a masters in communication. Ethan is called into college ministry and is exploring his calling to vocationally lead a ministry. Ethan enjoys working on cars, fishing, and spending time with his wife Hallie.
